Winner’s Edge: How Our Loyalty Program Really Works
Winner’s Edge is basically the centre of everything bonus-related at our casino. It was the first province-wide loyalty program for casinos in Alberta, and that is still a big deal for regular players. Points you earn with us move with you to other participating Alberta properties, so this is not just another local card that gets tossed in a drawer after one visit.
On our slot floor, the earning structure is simple and predictable: you receive 1 point for every dollar you wager. Those points accumulate in the background and you turn them into free play directly on a slot machine. There is no app to download, no online profile to set up and no waiting around for an approval email. You walk over to the kiosk, check your total, and convert points to free play while you are on the floor.
New Winner’s Edge members can receive up to 1,000,000 bonus points under our introductory promotion. That figure is the maximum possible value in the campaign, not something every guest qualifies for automatically. Even so, signing up is still worth doing, because the regular earning rate tends to build up faster than many people expect once they start playing.
| Winner’s Edge Feature | Detail |
|---|---|
| Points on slots | 1 point per dollar wagered |
| Intro bonus points | Up to 1,000,000 (promotional ceiling) |
| Redemption | Free play on slot machines |
| Food discount | 10% on qualifying menu items over $10 |
| Exclusions | Alcohol, daily specials |
| Sign-up location | Guest Services desk or Winner’s Edge kiosk |
The food discount is not huge, but it is genuinely handy over time. Winner’s Edge members receive 10% off the highest-priced qualifying food item on their bill at our restaurants, as long as it is more than $10 before tax. Alcohol and daily specials are excluded from this benefit. Only one item per bill is eligible - it does not apply to the entire table - but if you are already planning to eat at The Ridge Restaurant or Sidelines Lounge, it is a small saving you would otherwise miss.
Throughout the year we also schedule member-only contests and point multipliers. These events change fairly often, with dates shifting in different seasons. It is better to check with Guest Services when you arrive instead of assuming that a specific offer you heard about is still active.
Getting Set Up on the Floor
Registration for Winner’s Edge is only done in person. There is no online sign-up form, and cards are issued at our property at 888 Nakoda Way, Kananaskis, Alberta. The process is quick when you arrive:
- Go to the Guest Services desk or head to the Winner’s Edge kiosk near the main casino entrance.
- Present valid government-issued photo ID so we can register your account.
- We print your Winner’s Edge card right away - nothing is mailed out later.
- Insert the card into the reader on any slot machine before you start playing.
- Check your current point balance at the kiosk whenever you like during your visit.
- Redeem points for free play credits using the on-screen menu at the kiosk.
- Show or swipe the card at The Ridge Restaurant or Sidelines Lounge to apply the food discount.
If you are also checking in to stay at the hotel, that is a separate process from the casino registration, handled at the front desk. Both things can be done on the same day, but the Winner’s Edge card is only issued by the casino Guest Services team, not by the hotel staff.
One practical reminder that really applies at any land-based casino, including ours: when you arrive at a new property for the first time, ask at the desk about any current welcome promotions before you start playing. From time to time there are offers that are not posted on large signs or listed clearly on every page, and it is safer not to assume.
Rotating Promotions and Seasonal Events
On top of the base Winner’s Edge loyalty structure, we run an ongoing calendar of recurring promotions. These are meant to give players a reason to visit on particular days or time windows.
Jackpot Bonus Fridays take place weekly from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. During that four-hour period, players on the floor are entered into hourly draws for buffet vouchers. There is no extra opt-in step - if you are here and you are playing, you are part of the draw pool.
Seniors Day is scheduled every Tuesday between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm and features designated offers aimed at that guest segment. On Friday and Saturday nights we also run $2 Blackjack, giving table games players a lower minimum entry point during peak evenings.
| Promotion | Schedule | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Jackpot Bonus Fridays | Fridays 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm | Buffet vouchers (hourly draw) |
| Seniors Day | Tuesdays 11:00 am - 4:00 pm | Dedicated senior promotions |
| $2 Blackjack | Friday and Saturday nights | Reduced minimum bet |
| Rotating prize draws | Varies by campaign | Vehicle, golf packages, other prizes |
Our prize-draw campaigns have included themed giveaways such as “Win A Harley” and “Win A Golf Package.” Each campaign runs for a specific period, with its own rules and dates. We promote these mainly through our Facebook page at facebook.com/StoneyNakodaResortCasino. Checking that feed shortly before your visit is usually the most reliable way to see which promotion is currently active, since social updates tend to be more frequent than printed material.
Some overnight guests have also mentioned receiving a scratch-and-win ticket at hotel check-in with a chance to win up to $10,000. This is not a permanent feature of our program and we cannot confirm it will be available all the time. It is likely tied to particular promotional periods, so if you are curious, ask at the front desk when you arrive.
